Energy Utopia is a public interactive media artwork that depicts renewable energy artistically with an L-shaped large LED screen with a width of 90m. It aims to effectively introduce renewable energy, which is not very widely known to the public, as an interactive artwork. Each visitor can participate in the campaign via its mobile web page and send their participation history to the screen. Three characters representing solar, wind, and wave energy make fancy movements. Objects in each character’s glass sphere, reflecting the participation trend in real-time, show the characteristics of energy through the material, color, and motion.

‘Energy Utopia’는 폭 90m의 L자형 대형 LED 스크린을 통해 신재생 에너지를 아트적으로 묘사한 퍼블릭 인터랙티브 미디어아트 작품이다. 참여형 미디어아트 작품으로 연출함으로써, 대중에게 잘 알려지지 않은 신재생 에너지를 효과적으로 알리고자 하였다. 각 참여자는 모바일 웹페이지를 통해 캠페인에 참여하고 스크린에 자신의 참여 이력을 전송할 수 있다. 태양광, 풍력, 수력 에너지를 각각 상징하는 세 캐릭터는 화려한 몸짓을 보여주며, 각 캐릭터의 특성을 기반으로 실제 신재생 에너지 생성 데이터와 실시간 참여를 반영한 유리구 안의 오브제를 통해 찬란한 에너지의 향연을 표현한다. 또한, 입체적 공간 묘사를 통해 도심 한가운데에 나타난 극적인 공간을 연출하였다. 캐릭터를 감싸는 배경은 밤과 낮을 교차하며 시간을 관통하여 끊임없이 생성되는 에너지의 힘을 은유적으로 표현한다. 자신의 참여가 반영되어 나타나는 작품을 통해 작품에 일부가 되는 경험을 제공하고자 하였으며, 아나모픽 영상 기법, 모바일웹 인터랙션, 실시간 NFT 발행 등 다양한 기술을 활용하여 이전에는 퍼블릭 미디어아트에서 경험할 수 없었던 새로운 사용자 경험을 제공함과 동시에 완성도 높은 캠페인을 구성하였다.
