English	This book was designed to feature the view of a jewelry artist who was confronted with a question that our mental association process is now more dependent on online searching rather than our personal experiences or sensibilities. She uploaded images of her own collage onto an image search engine to create a list of keywords through an algorithm. Will we blindly trust the search results? Or can we accept the differences, and find clues to develop a new way of seeing? The word and title “PRESS” denotes not only physical pressure but mental pressure.
Native	「連想」は個人の経験や感性に由来するものではなく、インターネット検索の結果に等しくなっているのではないだろうか。近年のAIの浸透に、ジュエリーアーティストはその問いに新たな視座を得た。自身の作品を撮影した画像から連想する言葉をAIという知能によって導き出した時、閲覧者の認識にはどのような変化があるのか。模範解答として妄信するのか。あるいは、差異を認め共生し、新たな思考を導くヒントとなるのか。ジュエリーアーティストがローラーを用いて制作したコラージュを８方向から撮影し、そろぞれをインターネットで画像解析し、得られた単語をそのコラージュとともに掲載し、鑑賞者のコラージュに対する連想を促す。また、コラージュ単独でも鑑賞できるよう、単語はコラージュとは別のトレシーングペーパーに印刷した。 8方向から等しくコラージュを読者が鑑賞できるように正方形の紙面サイズにした。コラージュは40点ほど制作したが、得られた単語のバリエーションが多く、かつ造形的にユニークであるものを8点、厳選し本書に収めた。タイトル「PRESS」という言葉は、ローラー機を使った制作技法を示す言葉であり、連想するという行為がAIの台頭によって変化しつつある現状を示している。
