Research Interview

Research Highlights

Participants need personalized physical examination report

Participants indicated that hospital body reports identify areas of concern but lack guidance on how to improve the situation.

Participants want to buy Chinese medicine conveniently

Participants mentioned that finding and purchasing Chinese medicine from a store took a considerable amount of time.

Participants desire for professional diagnostic service

Participants mentioned it was difficult to locate a qualified Chinese medicine doctor for diagnosis and treatment.

User Journey Map

With a solid understanding of the present circumstances, we generated ideas to resolve the issue. We arrived at a conclusive selection of three MVP features: diagnosis, report, and store.

User Flow

Based on the research findings, we created a wireframe to comprehend how users navigate through the app to complete the entire process, from identifying the issue to purchasing Chinese medicine to remedy it.

After Phase 1, we spent 1 week conducting usability testing with 5 different people. It helped us to quickly test and iterate the product based on users’ feedback.

User Testing

Major Improvement 1: Add "Message" and Doctor Consultation

Design Decisions

1&3  Moved the "message" to the navigation bar since participants noted that the "questionnaire" lacked conciseness and advised consulting a doctor for accuracy. So, "message" as an important feature should be more obvious

2  Introduced a "message" feature and added doctor consultation at the beginning of the questionnaire, enabling users to make appointments with doctors for further consultation and assistance

Major Improvement 2: Add a “health score”

Design Decisions

1  Incorporated a 'health score' into the title for clarity since participants expressed confusion regarding the significance of these numbers, speculating that they might represent pulse readings

2  Adjusted the sequence of "add to cart" and "view report" to prioritize the report and it is a better visual flow from "treatment" to "cart" from left to right

3  Implemented color changes in the facial expressions to denote various conditions
