English	NOTHIN COFFEE café wanted to be built with respect to the history and time of this old city. On the exterior, tiles were crushed and wrapped in mosaic patterns. On the inner floor, mosaic-patterned stones were placed so that the image of the exterior could be seen from the inside again. The outer window uses glass blocks, semitransparent, to reduce visual contact between customers inside and pedestrians outside. This allows internal customers to focus more freely on the old cityscape. The history and scenery of this city are forgotten by people too quickly. We want to show people how beautiful it is and how it can continue to be renewed.
Native	서울의 구도심에 있는 이곳은 골목 따라 오래된 인쇄소와 낡은 건물들이 모여 있습니다. 우리는 이곳의 역사와 시간을 존중한 하고 싶었습니다. 그래서 이곳에서 70년을 버틴 오래된 건물을 개조했습니다. 낡은 외관은 기성 타일을 파쇄해 모자이크 패턴으로 감쌌고, 작은 창은 넓혀서 그 위에 아치틀을 얹어 부드러운 이미지를 만들었습니다. 카페 내부 바닥에는 모자이크 패턴의 돌을 시공해 외관의 이미지가 자연스레 내부로 투영되도록 했습니다. 그 투영된 이미지는 다시 한번 바 전면에 설치된 거울에 담겨 커피를 마시는 건물 내부 고객들이 집중할 수 있게 합니다. 외부 창은 반투명 재료인 유리블록을 사용해 내부 고객과 외부 보행자 간의 시각적 접촉을 줄였습니다. 이것은 내부 고객들이 좀 더 자유롭게 구도심의 풍경에 집중하게 합니다. 여기에 느릅나무 고재로 묵직한 문을 달고, 철도 레일 받침대로 쓰였던 목재로 의자를 만들어 지나간 시간과 옛 물건이 지금의 우리와 조화롭게 함께 할 수 있다는 것을 이야기합니다. 수도 서울은 매우 빠르게 변화하고 발전하는 대도시입니다. 그래서 도시의 역사와 풍경이 너무나 빨리 잊혀 버립니다. 도시의 풍경을 기억하고, 카페를 찾는 지역 주민들과 고객들에게 그것이 얼마나 아름답고 새롭게 지속될 수 있는지를 보여주길 바랍니다.
