PROF. BEOMKWAN KIM

Beom Kwan Kim is a professor at the College of Design and Architecture, Ulsan University. He is also an architect and designer based between London and Korea. He studied at the AA School in London, where he received his Diploma in 2012 with Honors. Kwan has worked in London on various projects at different scales, ranging from high-end residential to master plan schemes. His expertise was gained through collaboration with firms such as Squire and Partners, Serie architects, Atmos Studio, Urban Systems, Zahadid Architects, and RSHP in London. In addition to his architectural background, Kwan has studied Industrial Design and worked as a product designer. He was honored with the 21st Century's Talented Person Award by the Korean President, as well as receiving the Prime Minister's Award, K Design Award, Asia Design Prize, and Korea Wood Design Awards. His research and career in architecture and design are actively continuing in Korea. Currently, he is researching and developing architectural design materials and creating various experimental architectural design works.
김범관 교수는 건축과 산업디자인을 전공하였다. 한국에서 산업디자인을 최고의 성적으로 졸업하였고, 영국에서 건축을 시작하여 영국 왕립 건축가협회 건축학교(AAschool)를 최고의 성적으로 수석 졸업하였다. 영국과 아시아에서 다양한 건축과 디자인 프로젝트(목조건축, 개인주택, 고급빌라, 미술관, 대형 복합 쇼핑몰, 음악대학 등)에 참여하여 연구 경험과 실무를 익혔다. 그는 건축 디자인 분야에서 대한민국 국무총리상(2005), 21세기를 이끌 우수 인재상(2006), 대통령 메달(2006), Holloway Trust Award by Sir Henry Holloway(2012), AA Dipoloma Honours(2012), 지도교수상(2019), ASIA DESIGN PRIZE winner(2020), K DESIGN AWARD winner(2020, 2021), 대한민국목조건축대전_대한건축사협회 협회장상/우수상(2020), 교육우수교수상(2021), 경상남도 도지사 표창(2022), 울산광역시 시장 표창(2023), 대한민국목조건축대전_새건축사협회장상/우수상(2023) 수상하였다. 2015년부터 현재 울산대학교 디자인 건축 융합대학 교수로 재직 중이며 첨단 제조 기술(대형 3D 프린팅 기술), 목조건축 디자인, 융복합형 디자인 재료 개발(C.M.F), 디자인 브랜딩, 콘텐츠 개발 등의 건축, 디자인, 공학, 콘텐츠 기술을 결합한 도전적이고 실험적인 융복합 공간 건축 임상 연구와 교육을 개척해나가고 있다.
