Chair of the Jury Tetsuya Matsumoto
Tetsuya Matsumoto is the founder and principal architect of KTX archiLAB, a Japan-based architectural design firm. Following completion of his graduate studies at the same university, he has remained at the forefront of architectural and interior design, leading numerous projects both domestically and internationally, with a primary focus on medical, commercial, and hospitality facilities. His design philosophy is rooted in the seamless integration of functional beauty, simplicity, and sophisticated cost management. His work has earned international acclaim, with over 180 design awards from 17 countries, including the Red Dot Award, iF Design Award, Chicago Good Design Award, WAF, APIDA, K-Design Award, and the Good Design Award. He has also served as a juror for 10 international design awards across 10 countries, bringing extensive experience in evaluation and critique within the global design community. As the inaugural Jury Chair of Asia Design Prize, he has once again taken on the role to lead the award into its next decade. Drawing on his profound design insight and extensive experience with international design competitions, he is expected to present a new perspective on the future of design one that goes beyond aesthetics to address the evolving relationship between creativity, society, and global value.
