The design concept is inspired by the mathematical formula for finding 'distance', and the concept of capturing the identity of the cafe in the formula of subtracting A from B. As a concept, B is daily life, work, and interpersonal relationships. A is expressed as a mathematical formula that subtracts negative factors such as stress, depression, haste, and interference, and is a graphic representing the distance of the line elements and geometric elements of the graph obtained in the process of substitution which we defined as an element. The ‘E’ in the brand mark represents the final value of the formula representing the cafe’s identity.

우리는 카페의 고유의 그래픽 정체성을 정립하기 위해 카페의 네이밍에 집중했다. ‘거리’는 현대사회를 살아가는 우리에게 여러 가지 의미를 가진다. 때로는 거리를 좁히기 위해, 때로는 거리를 두기 위해 우리는 커피를 찾는다. 마주하고 커피를 마시면서 ‘거리’가 가까워지기도, 커피 한잔하며 바쁜 일상과의 ‘거리’를 두고 여유와 낭만을 찾을 수도 있다. 이러한 거리의 추상적인 개념을 시각화하기 위해 우리는 거리를 구하는 수학적 공식에서 아이디어를 얻어 추상적인 이미지를 시각화하였다. 디자인 콘셉트는 ‘거리’를 구하는 수학 공식이다. B에서 A를 빼는 공식에서 카페의 정체성을 담아내는 콘셉트로 B는 일상, 업무, 인간관계의 일상 영역 A는 스트레스, 우울감, 재촉, 간섭 등 부정적인 요소들을 빼는 수학적 공식으로 표현하고 대입하는 과정에서 얻어진 그래프의 선 요소와 도형적인 요소들을 카페 디스턴스를 나타내는 핵심 그래픽 요소로 정의했다. 브랜드 마크의 ‘E’는 카페의 정체성을 나타내는 공식의 최종 값을 나타낸다. ‘=’을 나타내면서 단순한 카페 브랜드 마크를 독특하게 표현한 요소이다. 또한 카페에서 느낄 수 있는 편안한, 구속되지 않은, 고요한 공간, 휴식의 의미를 담고 있다. 정의된 요소들은 카페 용품 등 다양한 접점에서 고유의 정체성을 적용했습니다.
