English	‘Garden Salt’ figuratively represents the island’s warm temperate forest and blue water, as well as the traces of hard work by the people and workers who live there. This project introduces the local culture of Geoje Island through a platform of HYUNDAI DEPARTMENT STORE DUTY FREE by curating products, the basics of hard work, made by local producers. By visualizing the virtue of local cultural heritage and products, we provide an opportunity to deliver new experiences to the visitors of Geoje Island.
Native	거제도는 대한민국에서 제주도 다음으로 큰 섬이자, 섬 중에서 가장 긴 443km의 리아스식 해안선이 펼쳐지는 장관을 자랑한다. 10개의 유인도와 63개의 무인도가 있는 본섬 거제도는 사면이 푸른바다인 해양도시이자 세계 1위 조선산업 도시다. ‘소금꽃정원’은 섬의 난대림 숲과 푸른바다, 그곳에서 삶을 일구어가는 사람들과 노동자들이 흘린 땀의 흔적을 은유적으로 상징하고 있다. 로컬 콘텐츠 생산자들의 구슬땀 결정체인 상품을 큐레이팅하여 현대백화점면세점이라는 플랫폼을 통해 거제의 로컬문화를 소개하는 이번 프로젝트를 통해서 지역 문화콘텐츠의 가치와 상품들을 시각화하여 거제를 방문하게 될 사람들에게 새로운 정보를 전달하는 계기를 마련한다. 소금꽃은 노동자들이 땀을 많이 흘렸을 때 옷이 젖은 뒤 말라서 하얗게 생기는 얼룩을 뜻하기도 한다. 그러한 값진노동의 결과물인 소금꽃의 결정체 형상에서 영감을 얻어 레터링과 그래픽에 적용하여 본 프로젝트의 디자인 모티브로 삼았다. 거제도의 자연환경을 기반으로 생산된 로컬 브랜드와 크리에이터들의 이야기를담은 로컬 큐레이션 프로젝트를 통해 거제도를 바라보는 새로운 시각적 경험을 선사한다.
