| English | Amami Oshima, also known as the Island of the Gods, has the word "Neriyakanaya," which means "a paradise beyond the sea." The people of the island have worshiped and worshiped the huge rock "Tategami" that rises above the beach as a place where the gods stop before landing on the island from the sea. The suite room named "En" is the one where you can enjoy the scenery of the Pacific Ocean spreading out below and Tategami standing there. From sunrise to sunset to night when the moon shines, the sea and the sky are in harmony with each other and offer a variety of expressions. |
| Native | 青く澄んだ海に抱かれる南国の楽園・奄美大島。亜熱帯の森にはさまざまな動植物が生息し、島に暮らす人々は豊かな自然に寄り添いながら、工芸や信仰、食など、独自の文化を育んできた。「神の島」とも呼ばれる奄美大島には、「海の彼方にある理想郷」を意味する「ネリヤカナヤ」という言葉が伝えられている。島の人々は浜辺の先にそびえる巨岩「立神」を、神が海から島へ上陸する前に立ち寄る場所として崇め、信仰の対象としてきた。立神は遠い存在ではなく身近な神。海沿いの集落に複数あり、「ティダムーン」の建つ笠利町節田集落では、「節田立神」が島民の暮らしを見守っている。「縁」と名づけられたスイートルームは、眼下に広がる太平洋とそこに佇む節田立神が織りなす景色を、最も堪能できるつくりだ。アースカラーでまとめられた部屋は大きな窓と広々としたテラスを有し、家具はあえてシンプルにした。日が昇る朝から夕暮れどき、月が輝く夜まで、海と空は呼応し、多彩な表情を楽しませてくれる。部屋に飾られているアート作品は全てこの部屋の為に作られたオリジナル作品で奄美大島の伝統工芸、信仰からインスパイアされたものになっている。 |
