English | “Mormro” means “Because we don’t know each other well yet.” In a city of anonymity, this restaurant offers a calm space for meaningful connection. Located in Seongsu-dong, it begins with a soothing atmosphere—dim lighting and soft music. The cozy waiting area feels like a friend’s library, followed by a refined bar for first introductions. Guests then transition to intimate tables for small groups and, finally, relaxed sofa seating for closer connection. By embracing gradual spatial changes, Mormro invites guests to foster personal, refreshing connections. |
Native | ‘Mormro(모르므로)'는 ‘우리는 서로를 아직 잘 모르기 때문에~’라는 뜻을 담고 있습니다. 익명에 감춰진 화려한 도시에서 우리는 서로를 얼마나 잘 알고 있을까요? 질문이 잘못 되었을 수도 있습니다. 우리는 서로를 잘 알 필요는 있을까요? 하지만 누구나 그렇듯 사회적인 시간이 끝난 후 나만의 시간이 필요할 때에는 나를 잘 알아주고, 내가 잘 아는 사람들과의 관계가 재충전의 원동력이 되고는 합니다. 서울 성수동에 자리 잡은 이 레스토랑은 첫 이미지를 차분하게 시작합니다. 낮은 조도와 잔잔한 음악. 대기 공간은 친구의 서재 공간처럼 아늑합니다. 홀로 들어서게 되면 첫 인사를 나누는 듯 아직은 격식 있는 바가 고객을 맞이해 주고, 둘 혹은 셋이 모일 수 있는 아늑한 작은 테이블들로 자리를 안내합니다. 이 아늑한 좌석들을 지나면 아주 가까워진 듯 편안한 소파 좌석들이 공간을 채우고 있습니다. 우리는 아직 서로를 모르므로(Mormro) 차근차근 공간의 변화를 통해 기분 좋은 개인적인 연결을 갖고자 합니다. |
