Existing remote controls do not consider user’s experiences centrally although it includes lots of things oriented function. The outcome of research showed that users only use some of functions from 40 buttons and the greatest discomfort was that they always need to find the remote control when they want to relax with TV. ‘Pebble’ makes affordance for users put the remote back where it belongs so that TV is turned off. It suggests an interface that more powerful effect could be expected compared to existing buttons due to a simple operational mode.

현재 있는 리모콘들은 기능 중심적으로 많은 것을 포함 하고 있지만 사용자 경험을 중심적으로 고려하지는 않고 있다. 리서치(시장조사) 결과 사용자는 평균 40개의 버튼을 가지고 있는 리모콘의 기능을 다 사용하지 않고 있으며 가장 큰 불편 중 하나는 tv를 보며 가장 편안한 시간을 보내고 싶어하는 사용자들은 항상 리모콘을 찾는 다는 점이 있었다. ‘Pebble’은 tv가 꺼지는 방식을 제자리에 두어야만 꺼지는 방식으로 사용자의 행위를 유발하며 간결한 조작 방법으로 기존의 버튼보다 강력한 효과를 기대할 수 있는 인터페이스를 제시한다.
