Prof. Lee Minhyoung
Lee Min-hyoung is a professor of Visual Communication Design at Induk University and a leading figure in contemporary Korean design. With a career that bridges journalism, education, and organizational leadership, he brings more than two decades of experience to the field. Before transitioning to academia, he spent 20 years at the Chosun Ilbo, where he led the design team of Weekly Chosun, shaping the visual direction of one of Korea’s most influential media publications. His extensive industry insight led to his appointment as a professor at Induk University in 2018, where he has since contributed to fostering the next generation of designers with a strong foundation in both practice and theory. He has played significant roles across major design associations in Korea, serving as Vice President of the Planning Division at the Korea Brand Design Association (BDAK) and as Vice President of the Academic Education Division at the Korea Visual Information Design Association (VIDAK). Currently, he is the Senior Vice President of the Korea Ensemble of Contemporary Design Association (KECD), where his leadership is widely recognized for its vision and professionalism. Beginning in 2026, he will assume the role of President of KECD, further solidifying his influence in shaping the future landscape of contemporary Korean design.
