Could you briefly introduce the EZVIZ brand? EZVIZ is known globally for its work in smart home, security, and IoT technologies. We’d love to hear about the brand’s philosophy, background, and the values you aim to deliver through design.
EZVIZ is a global leader in smart living, recognized for making advanced home security and IoT technologies accessible to people everywhere. Since our founding, our mission has been simple but powerful: to create a safer, smarter, and more convenient way of life through thoughtful design and innovation. At the heart of our work is a strong ecosystem that combines intelligent video and visual technologies with AI and cloud services. Around this core, we have built five major product categories, including smart home cameras, smart entry products, smart controls, cleaning robots, and smart wearable products. Together, these products connect seamlessly with other smart subsystems such as environmental controls and entertainment, helping us deliver the experience of a truly intelligent home. But what makes EZVIZ unique is the value we want people to feel. Through design, we strive to make technology warm and approachable, so that it brings peace of mind, convenience, and even moments of joy into everyday life. Our vision is to ensure that smart living is not only secure and efficient, but also sustainable, comfortable, and deeply human-centered.

What is the core design identity and direction of EZVIZ as a brand? Across your wide range of products, is there a consistent design principle you follow — such as simplicity, functionality, emotional design, or future-orientation?
Receiving the Asia Design Award is both a recognition and a reminder: recognition of our continuous efforts in design innovation, and a reminder that design must always serve a larger purpose. At EZVIZ, our design identity is not defined by a single style or form, but by a philosophy, to foresee and resolve real human challenges through thoughtful, responsible innovation. Our approach can be understood on two levels. On the practical side, we focus on solving the problems users face in their daily lives: making technology more intuitive, more secure, and more reliable. Yet on a deeper level, our true mission is to anticipate the needs of tomorrow, designing for scenarios that users themselves may not have imagined yet. We believe that great design is not only reactive but predictive — it safeguards, empowers, and inspires trust even before challenges emerge. This mindset is reflected in our products. As digital privacy becomes one of the defining concerns of the modern era, we have pioneered proactive privacy-protection mechanisms that reshape how people interact with technology, giving them greater peace of mind. Meanwhile, against the backdrop of global energy shortages, we are advancing a portfolio of battery- and solar-powered products to reduce dependence on traditional grids and contribute to a more sustainable future. How does EZVIZ approach the integration of technology and design?

To achieve this, we often look beyond engineering and draw inspiration from culture. Literature, film, and other creative works have long imagined how new technologies might shape human life. These cultural narratives provide a valuable lens through which we explore design, allowing us to present cutting-edge technologies in ways that feel more familiar, more human, and ultimately more acceptable to users. This perspective influences the way we translate technology into user experiences. With AI, for example, our aim is to make its intelligence feel almost invisible, seamlessly woven into daily routines rather than demanding attention. In security, we focus not only on technical strength but also on the sense of emotional reassurance: creating products that inspire trust and calm in moments that matter most. Internally, this integration is made possible by a collaborative process. From the earliest stages of development, our designers, engineers, and researchers work together as a single team. This cross-disciplinary approach ensures that technological progress and design insight evolve side by side, rather than in isolation. What kind of emotional experience or message does EZVIZ hope to convey to its users? Is there a specific emotional goal — such as trust, safety, friendliness, or innovation — that guides your design decisions?
At EZVIZ, we often remind ourselves that the true protagonist of life is the user, not the product. Our role is to design in a way that supports their daily routines rather than interrupts them, and to avoid imposing new habits or “educating” them through design. We believe that technology should never compete for attention, but instead quietly enable people to live more comfortably, more securely, and more freely. In this sense, our products are not intended to be the center of attention, but rather to act as a medium — creating new possibilities for connection. Whether it is strengthening trust between people, deepening bonds between humans and their pets, or fostering a more harmonious relationship between individuals and their environments, our goal is to design tools that enrich life without overwhelming it. The emotional message we hope to convey is therefore one of trust, reassurance, and companionship. Every design choice, from form to interface, seeks to instill a sense of calm confidence: that our technology is reliable, approachable, and always working in the background to make life better. Could you introduce one or more representative projects that best reflect the brand’s design philosophy? Please feel free to share the design challenges, creative process, and the message you aimed to express through these products.
One of the most representative projects of our design philosophy is the CB90x Dual 4G Kit, an outdoor battery camera kit that responds directly to the rising demand for flexible, mobile security. In recent years, we observed that outdoor security scenarios have grown increasingly diverse, from remote farms and temporary construction sites, to recreational areas and even mobile lifestyles such as RV travel. Yet in all of these situations, two challenges persist: the lack of stable power supply and the absence of fixed Wi-Fi networks. Traditional cameras, while powerful, often rely on wired installations and permanent infrastructure. For many users, this created a frustrating dilemma: either go through costly, time-consuming setups, or compromise on safety altogether. We saw this not just as an inconvenience, but as a critical gap in the user experience, one that left people unprotected precisely in environments where they needed security the most. Addressing this gap became the driving force behind the project. The challenge for our team was clear: how to achieve true freedom of placement without sacrificing reliability. Users needed a solution that was simple to set up, resilient in performance, and adaptable to any environment, whether a rural field, a busy worksite, or a temporary outdoor event. From the very beginning, our design and engineering teams worked hand in hand, guided by the principle that technology must remove barriers, not add them. The result was the integration of dual 4G connectivity with a high-capacity battery system. This combination liberated the product from the constraints of fixed infrastructure. Users can now deploy the camera anywhere, at any time, without worrying about cables, routers, or unstable networks. At the same time, the design ensures long-lasting operation, dependable video quality, and robust security features, giving users the peace of mind they expect from EZVIZ. With the CB90x Dual 4G Kit, our message is clear: security should follow the user, not confine them. In a world where lifestyles and work patterns are increasingly mobile and decentralized, people need solutions that move with them. This project exemplifies how EZVIZ interprets design, not as styling or surface, but as foresight, empathy, and responsibility. As society enters an era shaped by constant movement, shifting boundaries, and new forms of interaction, our responsibility as product designers is to ensure that trust, security, and human connection are never left behind. That is the deeper purpose of EZVIZ design: to make innovation a quiet but steadfast companion in the unfolding story of modern life.

What design direction or logic drives EZVIZ’s key visuals — such as your use of colors, graphic language, or typography? How do your visual elements communicate the brand’s identity and emotional tone?
In the EZVIZ smart security line, we deliberately embrace gentle, rounded forms and flowing curves. These shapes are more than stylistic choices — they are a quiet declaration of how we believe security should feel. Instead of sharpness or rigidity, we chose softness and continuity, expressing a design language that is empathetic, approachable, and reassuring. We are mindful that the image of a “watcher” can feel intrusive, while the idea of a “guardian” can seem heavy and distant. What we envision instead is a companion: a presence that rests calmly in the background, attuned to its surroundings, ready to respond when needed. This identity shapes not only the form of our products but also the emotional resonance they carry. A companion does not intrude; it supports. It does not command; it connects. Our colors and typography extend this philosophy further. Soft, balanced tones bring a sense of calm into the environment, while open, clear typefaces speak of transparency and trust. Together, these elements weave a consistent visual voice that reflects who we are as a brand — intelligent, reliable, yet always human at heart. Looking forward, we believe that visual design has the power to shape not only how technology is seen, but how it is felt. By presenting EZVIZ products as companions rather than machines, our visuals embody a vision of security that is warm, dignified, and deeply human. What do you believe differentiates EZVIZ design from other brands in the same industry? Whether in terms of visual identity, UX, or communication, what makes EZVIZ stand out in the global smart home and technology market?
What sets EZVIZ apart is our commitment to continuity and family identity in design. From the very beginning, we have been deliberate in building a cohesive visual language that users can recognize and trust across our entire product line. A defining example is the concept of the spherical pan-and-tilt camera, a form that EZVIZ was among the first to propose and establish. The decision to adopt a spherical design was not a matter of aesthetics alone; it was rooted in empathy. Security products, by nature, can feel intimidating or even aggressive. By softening their form into a rounded, approachable shape, we sought to transform the emotional perception of security, shifting it away from “being watched” toward a sense of calm, friendly companionship. This choice became the foundation of an entire product family, evolving from indoor to outdoor solutions, with dozens of variations that carry the same recognizable DNA. Over time, this has become what we call our visual hammer, a design element that imprints our identity in the minds of users worldwide. It ensures that no matter where EZVIZ products are encountered, in a living room, at a workplace, or outdoors, they speak the same design language: consistent, familiar, and distinctly ours. What differentiates us is not only the form itself, but the philosophy of coherence behind it. In a market often driven by speed and fragmented aesthetics, we remain steadfast in building continuity. This persistence gives EZVIZ a visual identity that is both gentle and powerful: gentle in the way it lowers barriers between technology and people, and powerful in the way it unifies our brand across cultures and geographies. We believe it is this combination of empathy, consistency, and recognizability that allows EZVIZ to truly stand out in the global smart home and technology landscape.
What kind of relationship does EZVIZ aim to build with its users? Beyond providing products, how do you envision EZVIZ as a brand engaging with people emotionally, experientially, or as part of their everyday lives?
At EZVIZ, we envision our relationship with users as a journey we walk together, discovering, exploring, and growing side by side. Our goal has never been simply to deliver products, but to create experiences that resonate on a deeper, more human level. We believe technology becomes meaningful only when it participates in life, not when it stands apart from it. This is why we design with the intention that every EZVIZ product feels like a quiet partner: present when needed, unobtrusive when not, and always adapting as life itself evolves.
