The water features and restoration of the old park enriched the green corridor, naturally providing habitat connections. Changes of grade creates the Blue Core, a collection of water features, at the center of the complex. Blue Water Garden reinterprets oreum in a modern sense with cascading walls. In contrast, Blue Oak Garden takes a more natural design language to offer a calm milieu of water features with tiered planting beds and oak trees. Blue Lounge promotes a holiday lifestyle with expanding viewpoints, decked paths and waterfalls using borrowed sceneries from Mt. Daemo. The engaging programs create a lively heart for the community.

대모산에서 양재천으로 이어지는 통경축은 대상지 내 오름공원을 복원하여 녹지를 연결하고, 축을 따라 수공간을 도입하여 다양한 생물들이 단절 없이 자연스럽게 이동할 수 있는 흐름을 조성하였다. 단지 중앙부 통경축에는 다양한 수공간이 연결돼 블루코어가 만들어진다. 첫 번째로, 블루워터폰드는 오름과 조화를 이루는 현대적인 공간으로, 모던한 형태의 가벽과 조형폰드가 도시 생활에서 경험하기 어려운 자연 풍경과 특별한 경험을 제공한다. 두 번째, 블루오크폰드는 화계식 폰드의 잔잔한 물소리와 대왕참나무의 시원한 바람을 느낄 수 있는 자연 친화적인 생태정원으로 조성되었다. 마지막으로 블루라운지는 대모산을 배경으로 도심 속 자연과 어우러진 생활 휴양지를 표방하며, 폭포와 데크 산책로를 통해 물가와 가까운 곳에서 산책을 즐기며 단지 전경을 즐길 수 있게 하였다. 이를 통해 도심 속에서도 모두가 즐길 수 있는 자연과 어우러진 생활 휴식처를 만들었다.

Judging Comments

Blue Core 189, designed by GS E&C, received the 'Gold Winner' at the Asia Design Prize 2024 for its innovative integration of water features into the restoration of an old park, creating a vibrant green corridor. The jury was impressed by the creation of the Blue Core, a central water feature collection that, along with the Blue Water Garden, Blue Oak Garden, and Blue Lounge, reinterprets the traditional oreum with modern, natural design languages.
