The Asia Design Prize 2027, an international design award organized by DESIGNSORI, officially opened for entries on October 6. Submissions will be accepted through December 30 in three categories: Industrial, Space / Architecture, and Communication. Companies, professional designers, and students from around the world are invited to participate. Covering products, spaces, and visual communication, the award aims to highlight outstanding design achievements across a wide range of fields. Under the slogan “LEGACY BEYOND ASIA,” the Asia Design Prize seeks to serve as a global platform that identifies Asia’s creative potential and connects it with the wider world. By focusing on the philosophy and cultural identity embedded in design, the award aims to ensure that today’s achievements become a creative legacy that inspires future generations and establishes new standards for design.
This year’s Jury Chair is Tetsuya Matsumoto of KTX archiLAB in Japan. The jury includes Hyunsun Kim, Chairperson of the Seoul Design Foundation, and Miki Orihara, Chairperson of the Japan Commercial Environmental Design Association (JCD), along with experts in design education, branding, architecture and spatial design, and product design. Jurors based in Korea, Japan, China, the United States, Taiwan, and other countries and regions will evaluate the submissions according to their respective expertise and experience. The evaluation criteria are aesthetics, uniqueness, and practicality, with consideration given to visual and formal quality, distinctive ideas, and value in real world use.
The key visual design direction was led by Yena Choi, CEO of BFORBRAND. The project was developed around the initials “ADP” as its central element, visually expressing the identity of the Asia Design Prize. Winners will receive an online exhibition and the right to use the official Winner Logo, while the Winner Package, consisting of a certificate and yearbook, is scheduled to be shipped on April, 2027. The Winner Logo can be used across various touchpoints, including product packaging, websites, and promotional materials, to communicate the achievement.
The Asia Design Prize aims to evolve into a platform where designers communicate their philosophies through their work and brands share the stories embedded in their designs with the world. This year’s competition will provide an opportunity to discover designs created across diverse cultures and environments while presenting their creativity and value from an international perspective. Entries can be submitted through the official Asia Design Prize website, where full competition guidelines and further information are available.
