The K-Design Award 2026 Awards Ceremony was successfully held on October 16 at the Grand Ballroom of SIGNIEL SEOUL. Bringing together 180 designers from around the world, the event became a celebration of shared achievements, new connections, and the true spirit of a global design community. At the heart of the occasion were the designers themselves. Despite their different languages, cultures, and professional backgrounds, attendees connected naturally through the common language of design. Conversations unfolded as participants introduced their work and listened to one another’s creative challenges, while the awards stage became a place where everyone exchanged congratulations and applause, regardless of nationality or affiliation. Designers who had previously encountered one another’s work online came together in person, meeting face to face and building connections that brought a new sense of warmth to the international network the K-Design Award has cultivated over the years.

One of the most important principles upheld by the K-Design Award Organizing Committee is strict adherence to the event schedule. Executing every procedure precisely according to the timetable announced in the event leaflet is both a commitment to attendees and a fundamental way to build trust in the event. With this principle in place, the program was conducted dynamically, keeping attendees fully engaged without a moment of boredom and allowing them to focus on celebrating achievements and connecting with one another. The ultimate purpose of this meticulous approach to event management is to foster a truly global design community. It is about bringing the brand philosophy of “KUDOS FOR YOUR DESIGN,” which honors one another’s challenges and achievements, to life through the experience of the ceremony itself. Led by Founder Doyoung Kim, a dedicated team of approximately 20 staff members worked in close coordination, guiding every stage of the ceremony through attentive on-site management and seamless execution.

The Fashionista selection, which celebrated the individuality and personal style of attendees, added another layer of enjoyment to the festivities. This year, the previous year’s Fashionista personally selected the new recipient, giving the tradition special significance. Having last year’s honoree choose the next reflected an event culture shaped by the active participation of its award winners, carrying the connections formed through design into the following year. An exquisite fine-dining experience and the ceremony’s exceptional execution further elevated the overall quality of the event. Attendees enjoyed meaningful conversations over dinner while celebrating each award winner’s achievements through a thoughtfully orchestrated program. The prestige of the awards stage and the warmth of the connections formed around the dining tables came together to create an atmosphere of elegance and vibrant energy throughout the evening.

The event also featured a series of talks that offered opportunities to exchange ideas and perspectives on design. Changryeol Song, CEO of CRACK THE NUTS; Sehoon Na, CDO of at’home; Sungho Park, Head of the Design Center at MINISO; and Yoonsang Choi, CEO of Channel A B&C, shared insights and experiences gained throughout their respective careers. Their discussions, spanning branding, product design, global markets, and media, offered fresh inspiration to attendees and added depth to the celebration. K-Design Award 2026 was an occasion where people came together through design, recognized one another’s achievements, and explored new possibilities for the future. Individual journeys from around the world converged in a single space that evening, and the shared experience created by 180 designers brought the meaning of a global design community to life in a tangible and memorable way.
