The entire appearance was soft and lightened by using ABS. Large curves and soft edges were used so that the user did not feel rejected. Aluminum processing was used for the interior and handle for durability. The four large handles on the left and right can minimize damage to the laser and optical parts when moving a heavy microscope. The slide doors on the front and sides made it easy and quick to open and close. In addition, the stage part can be made into a completely darkroom. By opening only a small part of the door, experimentation is possible quickly and easily.

IVM-3는 모든 기능을 최고도로 구현함과 동시에 초고속 고해상도 영상 성능과 사용자 편의성 및 공간 활용도를 극대화한 차세대 이광자 생체현미경이다. 전체 외형을 ABS를 사용하여 부드러우면서도 무게를 가볍게 하였다. 큰 곡선과 부드러운 모서리를 사용하여 사용자가 거부감이 들지 않도록 하였다. 하지만 내구성을 위하여 내부와 손잡이는 알루미늄 가공을 사용하였다. 좌우의 큰 4개의 핸들은 무거운 현미경을 이동할 때 레이저와 광학부분의 손상을 최소화할 수 있다. 전면과 사이드의 도어는 슬라이드 방식을 사용하여 손쉽고 빠르게 여닫을 수 있도록 하였다. 또한 스테이지 부분을 완벽하게 암실로 만들기 위해 디자인 단계부터 고려하여 3단슬라이드 도어로 디자인을 진행하였다. 도어의 작은 부분만 열어서 빠르고 간편하게 실험이 가능하다.
