"Soomgoal" creates a therapeutic sanctuary at "SDIJ_N," a Korean boarding preparatory institute. In a country where a single exam determines one's college, this space offers a vital moment of rest for students facing academic pressure. Applying behavior-based design principles, the site balances contrasting needs: "Solitude vs. Community" and "Activity vs. Rest." The design connects divided gardens with unified paths to support emotional status. The main garden features a sculptural landscape symbolizing the narrative of wounds, healing and hope, fostering recovery. Furthermore, soft indirect lighting offers warm stability to night strollers.

“숨-골"은 기숙형 입시학원 '시대인재 N'의 단지 전체를 산책로와 정원으로 연결하는 프로젝트다. 단 한 번의 평가로 서열이 결정되는 한국의 입시 제도는 전 세계적으로도 가혹한 경쟁 시스템이다. 더욱이 재도전을 위해 모인 학생들에게 실패의 상처를 다독이고, 무너진 신체 리듬을 회복할 수 있는 '대안 공간'은 너무나 중요하다. 이를 위해 행위 기반 디자인(Behavior-based Design) 원칙을 적용하여 학생들의 복합적인 심리에 대응했다. 공간은 '나뉜 정원과 연결된 동선', '고립(숨는 공간)과 소통(함께 있는 공간)', '활동(뛰는 공간)과 휴식(쉬는 공간)'의 대비를 통해 다양한 휴식의 경험을 제안한다. 특히 단지 중앙의 메인 가든(Main Garden)은 상처와 치유, 그리고 희망의 서사를 담은 조형 정원으로 조성되어 학생들에게 위로와 희망의 메시지를 전한다. 더불어, 밤 늦은 산책을 하는 학생들을 위해 시각적 자극을 최소화한 은은한 간접 조명으로 심리적 적막함 대신 온화한 안정감을 느낄 수 있도록 조성하였다.
