Librio Yukuhashi is a public library complex in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. The building is a four-story structure that is divided into upper and lower sections, twisting from the central section. The lower part faces the Red Brick Gallery supervised by Kingo Tatsuno, while the upper part faces the Nagao River, which has nurtured the history of the area. Inside, with the municipal library as the core, functions for citizens' cultural activities and Childcare Support have been added. While respecting its historical origin, the building harmonizes with the urban landscape, welcomes people at any time, and creates a new liveliness in the city.

行橋市は北九州市の南南東約25㎞に位置し、約7万人が住む北九州市のベッドタウンである。行橋という地名は合併前の旧行事村の行と旧大橋村の橋に由来する。江戸時代のこの辺りは小倉城と中津城をつなぐ中津街道の宿場町であり、長峡川の水運によって小倉藩を支える在郷町でもあった。敷地は建築家・辰野金吾の下建設された旧百三十銀行行橋支店（現在の行橋赤レンガ館）と向かい合う木蝋商・柏谷代々当主柏木勘八郎の屋敷跡であり、二つの村の境を流れる長峡川の右岸大橋側に位置する。この施設は、市立図書館を基幹に市民の文化活動のための機能や子育て支援機能が付加された複合施設である。図書館の持つ集客力を活かして中心市街地ににぎわいを創出する起点でありながら、「にぎわい」と「静けさ」という異なる性情を共存されている。内部は構造体そのものを意匠とした。構造体が表出する無彩色の内装に、全面を流れる長峡川の煌めきを床パターンに展開し、エレベーター廻りにアクセントとなる色を施しながら４層の空間に連続性を与えている。建物は4層から成る。その下層と上層の量塊に分節し、ツイストさせた。ツイストする量塊は不整形な土地形状への対応であり、歴史的文脈の上に未来を積み上げる企図でもある。下層は赤レンガ館と正対させて、二つの敷地がもつ因縁を尊重した。同時に赤レンガ館背後にある旧大橋村の町割りと整合させて、市民を受け入れ、街に新たなにぎわいを生むように仕かけた。上層は長峡川と正対する。それは、上階から眺める対岸の旧行事村の街並みとも符合する。
