As a starting point for visitors to get to know the local city environment, the Lakeshore Hotel Hualien incorporates the unique natural scenery of Hualien, such as clouds, mountains, forest, and sea, into the exterior of the building. The Building A (Qinhai Pavillion) adopts master Ma Paisui’s painting “The Beauty of Taroko” to transform mountains, forest waves, and waves into pentagonal and triangular geometries, which are presented on the corridor and ceiling of the first floor, and the exterior of the building also uses undulating lines to outline the image of waves.

旅店除了象徵在地的人文精神，更提供遠方而來的旅客一個適意的休閒場所，「煙波．花蓮」做為引導遊客認識在地城市和環境的起點和窗口，將花蓮「雲、山、林、海」等獨特的自然景觀融入建築外觀，A棟沁海館就以馬白水畫作《太魯閣之美》將山稜、林濤、浪潮化作五角幾何、三角幾何，呈現在一樓廊道和天花上，建築外觀更以起伏不平的線條勾勒出浪潮意象。並且將A棟沁海館適切地配合B棟、C棟作出位置安排，如A棟上部樓層以局部退縮規劃，產生量體層次，同時增加天際線的趣味，創造出景觀路台並取得最大採光面，也解決各棟之間視野遮蔽問題。又如透過A棟沁海館的量體配置退讓、不同高度層次設定，使每一個位置都十分通風透氣。同時以大面開窗迎入陽光，以貼近自然的態度進行建築規劃，最後完成自然、友善環境的休憩空間。
