English	SUSHI KOJI features a U-shaped counter, above which is a tangerine-colored ceiling and a wavy laminated washi paper shade. These effects accentuate the contrast with the black-based interior, creating a stage-like stately atmosphere. The finishing that a wall made by layering black paint on jute and the wooden tiles for the toilet, are locally available at low prices, but the delicacy of the Japanese style was expressed by combining materials that took time and effort. The black color of the handwork materials is different from general industrial products, and expresses a rich and deep black that can only be produced with that material.
Native	鮨幸二はベトナム人富裕層をターゲットにしたおまかせ寿司である。ホール中央にコの字型カウンターを配置し、その上部に橙色の折上げ天井と折り重なるワーロン紙のシェードを設けることで、黒を基調とした内装とのコントラストを高め、凛とした舞台のような雰囲気を作り上げた。ジュートに塗料を何度も重ねて作った黒い壁材やトイレの木タイルなど、仕上げ材の多くは現地で安価に手に入るものである。自社施工の強みを生かし、ローカルワーカーと共に実験的に作り出した黒素材は、一般的な工業製品の黒とは異なり、その素材でしか出せない表情豊かな深みのある黒を表現している。このように手間と時間がかかる素材を組み合わせることで、クライアントの求める日本らしい繊細さを実現した。
