Design starts with optimizing commercial flow and creating distinct indoor scene nodes. The new design addresses issues such as the original main atrium being too large and monotonous, the circuitous commercial flow and the lack of connection between above-ground and underground commercial areas. The redesign introduces commercial cantilevers into the main atrium, optimizing spatial scale and enhances overall commercial vitality through the re-planning of underground commercial pathways and vertical connections with above-ground areas.

设计从优化商业动线、打造室内场景节点入手。解决了原主中庭空间过大且单调、商业动线迂回及地上与地下商业缺乏联系等问题。新设计在主中庭增加商业挑台，优化了空间尺度，并通过地下商业动线的重新规划以及与地上商业的垂直连接，提升了整体商业活力。该改造项目的内部空间以十字轴为骨架展开，西馆设置多个主题空间节点。主中庭采用渐变彩釉玻璃栏板、木质格栅和香槟金穿孔金属板，结合灯光设计，形成了“海底龙庭”的效果。局部空间也以盛京文化为主题进行设计，色调大胆使用红色和金色等地域特色色彩。通过现代手法和材料演绎古典建筑的形式与韵味，加建的半室内空间将成为沈阳核心区具文化属性的城市公共空间，激活商业活动并提供良好的城市体验。
