KiTAQ WOOD was developed to reveal a regional cycle that already exists but is rarely recognized as a system. In Kitakyushu, forest stewardship, harvesting, local processing, use, education, and community engagement have long been connected through practice rather than policy. This project translates those relationships into a visual framework derived from the region’s topography, enabling the cycle to be shared, understood, and continued without enforcing a fixed form. The logo is not an arbitrary symbol, but a form generated from the land itself—ensuring it could only emerge from this place while remaining adaptable to use.

KiTAQ WOODは、新しい循環を生み出すプロジェクトではありません。北九州市にすでに存在していた、森林管理、伐採、加工、利用、教育、そして人と人との関わりによって成り立つ木材循環を、ひとつのデザインシステムとして可視化する試みです。本プロジェクトでは、地域の地形を起点に、循環そのものの構造を読み取り、そこからロゴマークを生成しました。形は恣意的に設計されたものではなく、この土地の広がりやつながりが反映された結果として導き出されています。固定されたルールや拡張を目的とするのではなく、日常の実践の中で自然に共有され、使われ、続いていくこと。そのための基盤として、地域に根づくデザインのあり方を提示しています。
