The "Anti-Japanese Heritage Embracing the Light" exhibition at Dondeokjeon Hall creatively utilizes the metaphor of "light" and the design strategy of "focus and contrast" to spatially translate the Korean Empire's struggle for independence. Through innovations like a non-uniform, immersive video room and media art-enhanced artifact displays, the project transcends the limits of traditional exhibitions, offering visitors a tangible, dramatic experience that proves history is a living "light," thus setting a new standard for historical content exhibitions.

대한제국 외교의 심장부였던 돈덕전에 펼쳐낸 본 전시는 단순한 유물 나열을 넘어, '빛'이라는 하나의 은유를 축으로 시공간을 엮어내는 데서 출발한다. 여기서 빛은 암흑의 시대를 뚫고 나아간 광복의 다른 이름이자 독립의 염원 그 자체를 의미한다. ‘집중과 대비’를 핵심 전략으로, 물리적인 빛을 절제하고 블랙&화이트의 강렬한 색채 대비를 활용했다. 이는 관람객의 시선을 유물 내면의 ‘정신적 빛’에 집중시키며, 위기-고난-투쟁-광복으로 이어지는 드라마틱한 역사적 서사의 몰입도를 높인다. 서사를 집약하는 실감영상실은 기존의 4면 영상관의 획일성을 탈피하였다. 계단식 비정형 벽체와 이를 타고 흐르는 추상적인 미디어 아트는 입체적인 시각 효과를 자아내고, 다음 시대로 나아가는 ‘문(門)’ 구조물을 통과하며 시대의 고난을 넘어 빛으로 나아가는 여정에 더욱 몰입하게 된다. 특히 항일의병격문 전시 공간은 5~6m 규모의 유물을 거울 반사와 타이포 미디어 아트를 통해 그 안에 담긴 웅장한 정신을 극대화한다. 결과적으로 이 프로젝트는 통사적 전시의 한계를 넘어, 미디어 아트와 공간 서사를 유기적으로 직조해낸 체감형 전시다. 이는 역사가 박제된 과거가 아닌, 현재에도 여전히 살아 숨 쉬는 ‘빛’임을 증명하며, 역사 콘텐츠 전시가 나아갈 새로운 방향을 제시한다.
