By exploring the evolution of brickworks used in Islamic architecture, In Between the Red Brick Wall created a wall of faith with vivid colours which makes a physical gradation symbolising the vibrant life of bricks in the Sharjah Islamic Arts Festival at Al-Majaz Waterfront. In echoing with this year’s theme, “Gradations”, an extrude wall spread from an infinite loop was designed to form a journey along the bond-patterned brick wall in gradated colours that leads to the heart of the pavilion. An underlying meaning of gradation was offered when visitors walks a tranquil journey to gradually mediate as if they were entering a minaret.
