On March 26, the Asia Design Prize 2025—an international celebration of design excellence—concluded with a grand award ceremony at the prestigious Four Seasons Hotel Seoul. Over 160 global designers and industry leaders gathered from across Asia, including Taiwan, Japan, China, and Hong Kong, to commemorate outstanding achievements in design. Notably, nearly 50% of the award recipients were international designers, reaffirming the event’s status as a truly global design award.
This year’s ceremony was more than just an award event—it was a meaningful occasion that embodied the spirit of global design connection. The evening began with a refined standing wine party set against the backdrop of soft lighting and sophisticated music, creating an atmosphere where designers freely exchanged ideas and inspiration across national and linguistic boundaries. The gathering of leading designers from across Asia symbolized the growth and evolution of the Asian design community, marking a powerful moment of creative convergence.
The highest honor of the year, Design of the Year, was awarded to Villa A by Teamstars. Traveling from Japan to attend the event in Seoul, Teamstars once again showcased to the world the architectural beauty and profound message embodied in their work. In the non-submission category, Taiwanese design maestro Professor Lin Pang-Soong was honored with the Jury’s Choice award, in recognition of his remarkable contributions to Asian design education and cross-cultural exchange over the past five decades.
The finale of the event was marked by a mission statement from Woosung Jun, one of Korea’s leading branding directors and the creative force behind the rebranding of the Asia Design Prize.
“The goal of the Asia Design Prize is for Asian design to become not merely a subject of consumption, but a driving force that shapes a new era. Rather than repeating the past, we aim to build a creative future led by Asia—and through this, to establish the identity and value of Asian design on the global stage.”
His message was more than a declaration—it clearly outlined the mission and direction of the Asia Design Prize as it prepares for the next decade.
The Asia Design Prize has now evolved beyond a mere awards ceremony to become the center of Asian design—serving as a platform that sets new directions within the global design ecosystem. The upcoming ceremony is also scheduled to be held at the Four Seasons Hotel Seoul, continuing the legacy in a world-class setting. With the newly announced slogan, “LEGACY BEYOND ASIA,” unveiled by branding director Woosung Jun, the Asia Design Prize signals a bold leap forward—poised to establish itself as a leading global design media platform.
