Heritage buildings are an integral part of the city’s charm. This was definitely the case for the Old Prison Building, of which the objective was to convert the heritage structure into a specialty coffee place, which take into account its local settings, with conservation, preservation and green in mind. The Old Prison Building clinched the distinction of being the first in Kedah state, Malaysia to be recognized with the GreenRE Silver Certification for reused building in 2016 and FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Award, world silver winner for heritage category in 2019.
