Manual drafting depends on the close relationship between calculation, measurement, and drawing, yet these actions are separated by conventional tools. ARCH TEK addresses this inefficiency by integrating calculation and measurement into one continuous action. Its horizontally extended form incorporates the function of a ruler, allowing users to draw immediately after calculating without switching tools. By reorganizing familiar instruments, ARTEK reduces unnecessary movements and supports a more efficient and continuous manual drafting workflow.

손제도는 계산, 측정, 드로잉이 긴밀하게 연결된 작업이지만, 기존 도구 환경에서는 계산기와 자가 분리되어 사용된다. 이로 인해 사용자는 계산 후 도구를 전환하고 다시 위치를 맞추는 반복적인 동작을 수행해야 하며, 이는 작업 흐름과 집중도를 저해한다. ARCH TEK은 이러한 구조적 불편함에서 출발해, 계산과 측정이 하나의 연속된 행동으로 이루어져야 한다는 관점에서 설계되었다. 기존 계산기의 형태에서 벗어나 옆으로 길게 확장된 구조를 채택함으로써 자의 역할을 자연스럽게 통합했고, 계산 직후 도구를 바꾸지 않고 바로 선을 그릴 수 있도록 한다. ARCH TEK은 익숙한 도구를 재구성해 손제도 과정의 불필요한 동작을 줄이고, 보다 효율적이고 연속적인 아날로그 작업 환경을 제안한다.
