FIRST CHASE is an identity branding project created for the 44th graduation exhibition of the Department of Design Innovation at Sejong University in 2025. The project defines graduation as the moment of a first sprint into society and visualizes the state of graduates through the metaphor of a racehorse. Graduates’ experiences and choices are transformed into data and pixels, generating distinct racehorse graphics that are produced and archived through an interactive AI-based web platform. Through collaboration with AI, the project proposes a contemporary, technology-driven exhibition format.

FIRST CHASE는 2025년 세종대학교 디자인이노베이션학과의 졸업전시를 기념하는 아이덴티티 브랜딩 프로젝트이다. 본 프로젝트는 졸업을 사회로 나아가기 위한 첫 질주의 순간으로 정의하고, 출발선에 선 졸업생들의 상태를 ‘경주마’라는 메타포로 시각화해 하나의 전시 경험으로 풀어냈다. 이번 전시는 인터랙티브 AI 기반 웹을 중심으로 구성된 새로운 전시 방식이다. 졸업생 각자의 경험과 선택은 데이터 단위로 해석되고 이러한 데이터는 픽셀 형태로 조합된다. 졸업생들은 AI와의 상호작용을 통해 서로 다른 형태와 속성을 지닌 무한한 경주마 그래픽을 생성한다. 생성된 결과물은 웹 아카이브에 기록되어 전시의 일부로 지속적으로 축적된다. 본 프로젝트는 AI를 창작 과정에 적극적으로 개입시키는 실험을 통해 예측 불가능한 결과와 창의적 재미를 만들어내며, 기술과 가장 밀접하게 맞닿은 동시대 전시 방식의 가능성을 제안한다. FIRST CHASE는 완성된 결과보다 도전과 과정에 집중하며, 미숙함을 넘어 앞으로 나아가기 위한 새로운 출발점이 되고자 한다.
