The Namsan District of Cheonan, South Korea, is in decline. Once the city’s cultural and administrative heart, it is now among its most deteriorated areas due to aging and commercial stagnation. Formed as a geomantic site where five dragons meet, the historic center was split by an elevated highway. The flowing skywalk, “CHEONANRO 2551,” highlights Namsan’s identity and history. Using upper and lower highway spaces, it reconnects market streets and green areas. Twenty-five programs form five zones, merging into a single skywalk. It restores divided spaces, reconnects communication, and revives lost history. Namsan will flow again.

대한민국 천안시 남산지구는 극심한 고령화와 상권 침체로 소멸 위기에 놓여 있다. 오늘날 가장 쇠퇴한 지역으로 인식되지만, 100년 전 남산지구는 천안의 문화와 행정이 집약된 도시의 중심이었다. 다섯 마리 용이 한곳에 모이는 모양의 풍수지리로 형성된 역사적 중심지는 지역 중앙을 관통한 고가도로로 인해 분절되었다. 흐르는 스카이워크 ‘CHEONANRO 2551’은 남산지구 고유의 공간과 기억에 주목한다. 고가도로 상·하부 공간을 활용해 시장 거리와 녹지 공간을 하나의 연속된 흐름으로 연결한다. 25개의 프로그램은 5개의 존으로 구성되어 곧 하나의 스카이워크를 이룬다. 이는 분절된 도시 구조와 단절된 소통, 사라진 역사를 다시 잇는 새로운 도시의 흐름이 될 것이다.
