Did you know that plants talk to us? However, their expressions are at a cellular level, which is too tiny to be understood by humans. I have designed a font family to bridge this scale difference between the two species. Inspired by the cellular-level expressions and emotional states of plants, I have built the fonts based on the shapes of cells and pores seen through a microscope. With the font, I have graphically designed 12 words which are most often expressed by plants. A guide booklet and a set of medicines for various plant diseases are provided in the BOTANE package. The package helps us communicate with the plants we care about.

식물이 우리에게 끊임없이 말하고 있다는 사실을 아시나요? 덥다, 춥다 등의 의사표현을 하지만 너무 미미한 나머지 우리는 보고 듣지못하고 지나칩니다. 식물의 언어에 귀기울이고자 그들의 미세한 목소리를 확대하면 이해할 수 있다는 컨셉을 바탕으로 현미경 속 식물의 기공 형태를 모티브로 하여 인간과 식물의 언어를 잊는 폰트 패밀리 (씬, 라이트, 레귤러) 를 만들었습니다. 그리고 그 폰트를 응용하여 식물이 가장 자주 표현하는 12가지 단어를 그래픽으로 표현하였습니다. 'BOTANE' 는 우리가 놓치고 있는 식물의 언어를 시각화한 그래픽과 함께 키우는 방법을 편집물에 담아 사람과 식물이 소통하며, 식물이 필요로 하는 것에 맞게 대처하며 키울 수 있는 가드닝 패키지입니다.
