This playground transforms sloped terrain into a core design asset beyond flat playgrounds. Natural level changes reshape underused slopes into safe, dynamic play spaces that encourage active movement. Integrated slides and net structures support motor skill development. A 26-foot sculptural landmark, inspired by a Welsh Corgi running downhill and expressed through an origami-like form, defines the playground’s identity. Fully compliant with South Korea’s strict safety standards, the project demonstrates how terrain-based play can remain innovative while strengthening visual impact and community character.

본 놀이터는 경사 지형을 적극적인 디자인 요소로 전환하여, 기존의 평지 중심 놀이터를 넘어서는 새로운 공간을 제안하였다. 단차와 자연 지형을 활용함으로써 활용도가 낮았던 사면을 탐색과 신체 활동을 유도하는 안전하고 역동적인 놀이 환경으로 재구성하였다. 사면을 따라 배치된 슬라이드와 네트 구조는 신체 조절 능력과 운동 발달을 촉진하며, 놀이의 몰입도를 높인다. 약 26피트 높이의 조형적 중심 구조물은 시각적 랜드마크이자 공간의 중심 요소로 작용하며, 언덕을 즐겁게 뛰어 내려오는 웰시코기의 모습을 종이접기에서 착안한 위트있는 조형 언어로 표현되었다. 본 프로젝트는 대한민국의 엄격한 놀이터 안전 기준을 충실히 반영하여, 규제 요건을 충족하면서도 지형 기반 놀이 공간의 혁신 가능성을 제시한다. 놀이 기능을 넘어 대규모 조경 설치물로서 지역의 경관적 가치와 장소성을 강화하는 커뮤니티 공간으로 기여한다.
