The site for this project is located in an old residential area. The location is also close to the ocean, with rainstorms, snow and strong sunshine. I wanted to change the uniform townscape while harmonizing with the townscape. I thought about creating an open house while protecting the safety and comfort of the people living in the harsh natural environment. A courtyard was built on the first floor, and a roof terrace was built on the second floor. All living rooms are arranged in these two gardens. The people who live in this house feel nature even when they are indoors. I thought that feeling nature in everyday life is an open house.

今回の計画地は、古い住宅地にあります。交通量の多い大きな道路に面しています。この場所は、海にも近く、暴風雨、雪、強い日差しが照りつけます。街並みと調和しながら、画一的な街並みを変えたいと考えました。厳しい自然環境から住む人々の安全と快適性を守りながら、開放的な家になるよう考えました。家の外周には窓を設けずに、リサイクル素材を原料としたコンクリート製の外壁材で覆いました。家の間取りには、2つの庭を取り入れました。１階には、中庭を作り２階には、ルーフテラスを作りました。この、２つの庭に、全ての居室を配置しました。庭は、プライベートな空間を作り出します。カーテンなどの目隠しも必要ありません。積極的に外部とのつながりが強くなります。この家に住む人々は、室内に居ても、自然を感じます。日常生活で自然を感じる事が、開放的な家と考えました。
