This project transforms a 64-year-old wooden building into a reservation-only Italian restaurant through a careful balance of aesthetics, structure, and experience. By lowering the ceiling and exposing the original framework, the design allows the building’s time and weight to become part of the spatial expression. Structural reinforcement enabled the removal of kitchen columns, improving functionality while preserving visual continuity. Rooted in Japanese aesthetics, the space incorporates ukiyo-e and subtle lighting, creating an intimate atmosphere where architecture, cuisine, and time quietly converge.

本計画は、築64年を経た木造建築を、完全予約制のイタリアンレストランとして再生したものである。天井をあえて落とし、覆われていた構造体を露わにすることで、この建物が静かに抱えてきた時間と重力を、空間の風景として受け止めた。厨房区画では、機能性を成立させるために柱を取り払う必要があった。構造設計者と協働し、梁を補強することで安全性を確保しながら、空間に連続性と余白を与えている。補強に用いた白い2×4材は、エージング塗装を施すことで既存の梁と馴染ませ、後から加えられた要素でありながら、もとからそこに在ったかのような佇まいを目指した。長年の経年で濃く沈んでいた木部にはクリーニングを施し、光を受け止める柔らかな色合いへと整えている。和の趣を基調とした空間には、オーナーシェフが愛する浮世絵を配し、日本の美意識とイタリア料理が静かに交差する場とした。昼は自然光に満ちた穏やかな表情を、夜は間接照明による陰影が非日常を描き出す。完全予約制のこの場所には、その一日を丁寧に味わうための人々が集い、料理と空間が重なり合う時間が流れている。
