Karim Rashid is one of the most prolific and celebrated industrial designers of our time. Known for his signature use of bright colors, fluid forms, and a futuristic aesthetic, Rashid has completed over 4,000 designs in production and received more than 300 awards. His work spans a wide range of disciplines—from product and furniture design to interior architecture and branding—with iconic creations for clients such as Umbra, Samsung, Veuve Clicquot, and Audi. Born in Egypt and raised in Canada, Karim holds a degree in industrial design from Carleton University and a master’s from Italy’s Rodolfo Bonetto Studio. His design philosophy is rooted in democratizing design, making beautiful and functional objects accessible to all. With a keen eye for innovation and an optimistic vision of the future, Rashid continues to push the boundaries of contemporary design, advocating for a more sensual, human, and experiential world. He served as the Chief Judge of the Asia Design Prize for three consecutive years starting in 2019.
