Shin Julie is a professor at Tokai University and an environmental designer based in Tokyo and Seoul. She studied at Ewha Womans University, Korea and earned her Ph.D. in Arts from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music, Japan. She conducts fundamental research in environmental design, extends traditions, and pursues more creative and innovative design education for a sustainable future. She has been actively in writing books such as “Design innovator I loved” and exhibiting at the Gwangju Design Biennale, while also serving as an executive member of the Japan Society of Design’s Environmental Affairs Committee and the Society of Korean Scientists and Engineers in Japan.
